There are many implements one fire dance with. These are what I'm competent with.

poisample1 Poi: This is a Maori New Zealander word for a ball on a chain. The Maori originally used poi to train for hunting, battle, and whatever else they did with the balls on cords. The training rituals eventually evolved (or devolved if you're in some circles) into a contemporary form of dance. Lighting the balls on fire is a new twist on the contemporary dance.

Staff: This has a less interesting history than poi, however it's still a great performance tool nonetheless. Per the usual definition, a staff is a refined, shaped long stick. The only difference between your standard traditional staff and a fire-staff is the wicking on either end.

Hoop: Take your standard hula hoop you had as a kid. Now make it beefier, stronger, and larger. Finally add spokes that protrude out of it and put fire on each of those spokes. For the final touch, hula hoop with this thing.

Torches: The torch is my forté. Using it I can eat fire, blast fire, and do body lights --torchsample1 where I light my body on fire.

I am always learning new techniques and tricks with the tools I currently use.

I am also working on learning a few new tools, which I will put up here as soon as I am competent with them!
